Her parents are born in Barbados She began singing in the early years of her life. As a result of the chaos in her home and the arguments that her parents were having, she began to pursue music. Soon she decided she would like to pursue a career as a singer. In high school, she formed a music group, and was asked to perform with Evan Rodgers. The producer was impressed by the talent of this teenager. The singer relocated from the United States to New York so that she could pursue her full-time singing career.
